Riant top horses sold to Australia and Hungary

Even before Riant-driver Claudio Fumagalli had entered the dressage arena of the big international driving event in Vecsés, the three top horses with which he had travelled to Hungary were already sold. Fumagalli’s dressage monster score of 34,82 which he set with Adoe (Roy M x Fabricius) and Curios (v. Wodka) confirmed the value of the KWPN-geldings to the buyers, World Champion Boyd Exell from Australia and Hungarian driver Martin Hölle.

Previous owner of the horses Mieke van Tergouw from Riant Equestrian Centre in Beekbergen is very proud of the horses: “We have bought these three horses, including spare horse Cadans (Ulandro x Waterman), at young age and broken them into harness ourselves. We have put many hours of training in these horses and this has paid off. It was not our intention to keep this pair since we normally work with bay horses and these geldings are black. Our goal in Vecsés was to let the horses get international experience with Claudio. That is why Claudio took it easy in the marathon. “

World Champion Boyd Exell immediately spotted the black harness horse-bred KWPN horses. The geldings stood out by their extreme radiation and movement. “They are also very healthy and they have a wonderful exterior,” completes Van Tergouw.
Exell feels that Curios and Cadans will add value to the improvement of his four-in-hand. “We take this as a huge compliment”, tells Van Tergouw. “This confirms that we have a good eye for young horses and our system of training and education the horses ourselves and competing with them works well. It is just super that top drivers like Boyd Exell come to us to ‘shop’ for horses!”

Adoe will be trained further at Riant for pony driver Martin Hölle, who will switch to driving a horse team in the near future. Hölle is closely connected to the Dobrovitz family, who hosted the famous international competition on their home soil in Vecsés. “It was a fantastic event and the Dobrovitz family has made us feel very welcome. We are already looking forward to coming back next year,” says Van Tergouw who will now concentrate on her own international driving event, that will take place from 19 to 22 July at Riant Equestrian Centre in Beekbergen.
